In addition to custom machines directly based on Fraxinus, this section introduces compact 3D printers connected to knowledge and design ideas shared through the Fraxinus community.

SM-100

Compact CoreXY 3D printer designed by c-bata and powered entirely by 100W USB PD (GitHub). Based on experience from the Fraxinus 00 series and the Fraxinus community, SM-100 focuses on a compact footprint for small living spaces, cooling for motors and electronics, and improved fire safety.

After completion, the printer has also been shown running in daily use.

c-bata has also shared the build process for the stainless-steel sheet-metal chassis.

Elk Micro

Compact CoreXY 3D printer designed by Eitoku and powered by USB PD (20V, 45W or more) (note). The Fraxinus 00 series was inspired by this machine. Aiming for a portable size that can even run from a mobile battery, it replaces an aluminum frame with a 3D-printed resin frame to keep the part count low. The maximum print size is 81 × 78 × 75 mm and the body weighs about 1.5 kg (excluding battery). The name comes from the two large motors on the front, which resemble a deer’s antlers.

It also supports printing ABS.
